Hello everyone. I can't believe how fast this school year is going. It is only a few days till Christmas break.

This week we will be having a reading test on Tuesday. I will send a study guide home on Monday. there is going to be a Christmas spelling list for spelling this week.

Don't forget we are using different wording on the reading tests for beginning, middle, middle, and end. It will now be first, next, then, last. This is the wording that third grade uses on their test. We feel this will help the children get ready for third grade.

Math. We will be taking a math test on 2 digit addition and regrouping on Tuesday. I will send home a study guide for this also.

This week will be filled with some great activities for the children. Thursday we will be having Christmas around the world in 2nd grade. Your child can bring their pajamas, robe, and slippers to go from class to class and learn about different Christmas celebrations. This is a wonderful activity that they will enjoy greatly. ( I know I do!!!!!!!)

Our Christmas around the world will be on Thursday in the A.M.
Friday will be our movie trip to Chillicothe to see Tangled.

Hello,

This week is going to be a very short week for us due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

We will not be having a spelling test this week. Also, reading logs will not have to be turned in this week.

Hello again!!!!!!

We will not have a spelling test this week due to giving the ACAP test.

We are sending a list of words home for you to review with your child. Theses are NOT spelling words. This list of words are words on the ACAP that your child will need to be able to read throughout the test. It will be very helpful if you review these words throughtout the weekend and week.

Our reading ACAP will be on Tuesday October 19th.

Our Math ACAP will be on Thursday October 21st.

Please make sure your child is well rested and has a good breakfast the morning of the tests.

We will be having a fund raiser kick off at 2:00 in the gym on Friday. So expect to see your child's fund raiser information and kit to come home with them.

Please DO NOT let your child go door to door alone.

Hi !

I can not blog from school. I am not sure when the problem will be resolved.


My reading class has started our first story Dragon Gets By. I will post spelling words, vocabulary words, and high frequency words for each story.

My math class will be doing a review this week. We will be working in our workbooks chapter 1.

I will also have homework on Tuesday and Thursday only in math. We will do Saxon math side "A" together in class and their homework will be side "B". They can bring that to me in the morning before reading or at math time.

It is very hot this week outside and it is fine if the kids bring in water bottles. I drink throughout the day and want the kids to be able to also. We have a water fountain in our room and they are welcome to get drinks when needed.

This has been a wonderful start to 2nd grade. I am enjoying all of my students greatly!!!!!!!!

Welcome

I am very excited to be back at school. There are a few things I would like to remind you of:

1. Monday, August 23 will be our open house. It will be from 5:30 to 7:00. I will be in my room a little late because my own child has open house for 7th grade.

2. Students first day will be Tuesday, August 24.

3. I would also like to address an allergy concern in our class this year. We have a student who is allergic to peanuts. This is a serious allergy and needs to be handled with care from all of us. This is why I am asking you PLEASE DO NOT send in anything that has peanuts, nuts, peanut oil or peanut butter in it for snack. I appreciate your cooperation in this matter. I want to assure ALL children are safe in our classroom. Thank you!!

The last few days of school

On Tuesday June 1st we will be having a pizza party in our class. The children are asked to bring in $2.00 each to help pay for pizza. I will provide drink and chips.

Wednesday the 2nd we will be having a class cook out. Your child brought home a note stating what they needed to bring in. Thank you very much for helping out.

Thursday the 3rd- Your child will need to bring in a sack lunch. We will have a class picnic this day.

If you child does not like the lunches we are having these three days then they can buy from our cafeteria or bring their own lunch.

Please send in wrapped candy for your child to pass out to the class to fill our Easter baskets. I will provide the Easter baskets, grass, and a few other goodies for the children.

We have teacher parent conferences on Thursday, April 1.

School will be in session Monday, April 5th.

We will have our pre spelling test Thursday and our final spelling test Friday.

The AEA Variety show will be April 23rd from 7:00P.M. to 10:00P.M. If your child wants to be in the variety show they will need to pick up an audition form, fill it out, and return it back to school. March 19- Permission slips are due.
March 23- Auditions ( 3:15 in the Auditieria)
March 24 - Auditions ( 3:15 int he Auditieria)
April 22- Dress rehearsal ( 3:15 in the Auditeria)
April 23 - Variety show ( 7:oo-10:00)

I will be bringing in snack next week for the children.

Teacher parent conferences will be April 1st in the P.M.

Our Spring break is April 2-4. (Fri-Sun) We have to make up a snow day on the Monday after Easter. ( April 5)




It is very important that your child wears his/her coat to school. It is still only in the 30's when we go outside in the morning.

Today is our class pizza party. The children are very excited. Thank you for taking time to fill out the address booklets from our last fund raiser.

My reading class will be having their reading test on Tuesday march 9th. They will be bringing a study guide home to help them remember what to study. I send this information home before every test.

Math class is working on counting money and telling time. It would be very helpful if you would practice at home.

Our class has a pizza party at lunch tomorrow. Our class won a pizza party for bringing in the most booklets for our last fundraiser. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The pizza party is at no cost to your child. They will be having pizza, pop, and chips.

100th day

100th day is going to be February 11, 2010. This is the current date as long as there are NO snow days between now and then. Your child should bring in 100 of something to share with the class. This can be coins, cereal, matchbox cars, gum, candy, pencils,cookies, or anything you and your child can think of to do. If you send in 100 pieces of candy and want your child to share with the class please try to make sure it is wrapped candy.
