Hello again,
This week will be a fun, busy week.
Reading class will be doing some activities on table of contents, glossary, and chapters.
We will also be working on a small story called Owney. We will be working on map skills throughout this story.
math- We are still working on regrouping using subtraction. Please practice nightly with your child.
My homeroom has secret Santa on Tuesday at 2:15.
Thursday will be Christmas Around The World. This will consist of the classes rotating to each teacher and learning about different types of Holiday celebrations.
Friday is our movie trip. We will be seeing Chipmunks Chipwrecked. this is always a fun time. Your child will not need any money. Our PTO is paying for the tickets and we will not be stopping at the snack bar.

We will have a spelling test on Thursday and a final test on Friday.
Reading logs are due on Friday of this week.
Math: We will begin working on 2 digit subtraction. Please review all papers that come home with your child. This concept can be very difficult.
This week we will have our funflatable party on Friday during our special times.

Nov 21-25
Wow, I can't believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. This school year is going by quickly.
We only have school 2 days this week. Monday and Tuesday.

Math we will be working on 2 digit addition with regrouping.
Please review the papers that come home with your child each evening.
We will be making friendship fruit salad with our homerooms on Tuesday.
This is always a fun activity the children enjoy.
We will be having the Kindergarten card party on November the 22nd from 6 to 10 P.M. I hope to see you all there with your games and families.
It is getting to be very cold outside and we are having some children come to school without a heavy coat. Our play ground is very windy and cold. We go out as often as we can. Cold weather doesn't stop us from going outside. Please make sure your child comes to school with a coat, gloves and a hat.

We will be having a very short week this week. There is no school on Thursday or Friday.
We will be having teacher parent conferences on Wednesday evening from 4 to 8 and again on Thursday morning from 8 to 12.
Friday is Veterans Day.

Each student will also need to bring a sack lunch and drink. Everything needs to be throw away!!!!

We are also starting with Saxon math homework on Tuesday evening. We will do side "A" together in class and they will do side "B" at home for homework. This needs to be returned on Wednesday. Homework counts towards their grade.

Hello everyone. My reading class will be working on biographies this week. The children have been doing a great job on their spelling tests. I understand the words are a little more difficult than usual. My reading class should have no problem. It may help if you have your child write the words 3 times each and review them every night.

We have been having a GREAT time with Flat Stanley. He has been on some wonderful adventures and we are still receiving packages in the mail.

We will take the test on Thursday and if they get a 100% they do not have to take the test on Friday. If they do not get a 100% then they will have an "alternative test" for the final test. They may have the spelling list to write the word correctly in a sentence. Our goal is for the students to become familiar with these words.
We have been having a GREAT time with Flat Stanley. He has been on some wonderful adventures and we are still receiving packages in the mail.
Our school web site has great information on the adventures of Flat Stanley. Go to Adena local schools and then to Elementary. Flat Stanley has his own area for you to look at.
MATH:
We will continue on counting money and telling time. We are also doing some measurement.

Hello,
This week will start off with ACAP review in both Reading and Math on Monday.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be Reading and Math ACAP tests.
Please try to make sure your child is at school and on time.
My reading class will be starting a project on poetry. We will be exploring different types of poems and styles. We will also try to write our own poem and illustrate it.
Lets hope the snow stays away this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
